Chapter 27

~RESILIENCE~

Welcome back for another episode of “As the Jungle Turns” the crime fighting/adventure comic that is drawn and written by Pia Langfeld and Jaime Leos based on words selected the drawing game, Monkey Sidebars.  Twice a week, Monkey Sidebar members select a theme/word and you draw accordingly. Many of the members are very creative in their draws.  Yet writing a storyline with the themes selected is very tricky and require tons of brainstorming.

Previously, on “As the Jungle Turns”…..Our heroes had caught up to The Twins and as they escaped down a Bobsled track!  Fortunately, Gunnar was familiar with bobsledding and told the team that if they followed his lead, they could get down the track fast enough to catch the villains.  As they made their way down the track they found a bobsled turned over with someone moaning inside….it was Thomas!

When we started this comic series, Mary had just broken up with Thomas and was heart broken.  She cried her heart out but soon came into the arms of Jerry (whom we find out later in the our chapters that he was Thomas’ brother!)  Thomas used Mary to frame her for his murder.  Thomas was behind on gambling debt and to get access to his trust fund, he decided to stage his death.  However, with “resilience” our heroes were able to catch the scoundrel and bring him to justice!

Jaime Leos- "After capturing Thomas on the bobsled track, he was taken in for questioning. However Thomas wasn't too cooperative. He was biding time thinking he wouldn't be extradited to the U.S. However, he wasn't under arrest yet.....Mary had ways of making him talk!"

Thomas had no intentions of talking and giving up his brother Jerry or his sister Faith!  His sister was fundamental on taking them to countries where they could not be extradited.  Arresting him would be tricky although they had enough evidence.

However, Mary is not an officer of the law nor a secret governmental agent….she is a common citizen.  She was simply here to help identify the Twins and assist with clearing her name of murder.  She just wanted to know why he framed her for murder.  Finally Mary was done talking….questions were going to be answered!

Jaime Leos- "Mary had enough with Thomas' sarcastic attitude and was thinking of how he framed her for his murder...it was time for some payback!! He caved in pretty easy! Gunnar told Swedish Police that the bruises and bleeding on Thomas' face was from the bobsled accident."

Mary was able to find out that Jerry and Faith were at a night club called “The White Room Dance Club” in Stockholm.  Through the team’s resilience, they were close to capturing the villains.

So in our next chapter, Mary will have to put on her best dancing shoes and party dress.  But this wasn’t going to be all pleasure…this was going to be all business!

Until next time, dress to impress and bring your glow sticks because we are going #Dancing!

I’ll leave you with this video that defines the word Resilience….
